Review of adjustment applications
The technical review of adjustment applications submitted under the Gothenburg Protocol is a desk review which is conducted annually in April-June.
CEIP supports the reviewers by managing the review process overall, including the provision of Party information to the reviewers. CEIP also acts as an intermediary between the Party and the reviewers, should there be points which require clarification during the review. A lead reviewer co-ordinates the work of the team to ensure that a consistent approach is taken across all Parties / years/ pollutants/ source categories. All submitted adjustments are checked by two independent reviewers. All adjustments that are reported in requested formats are imported into the tool developed by CEIP.
Adjustments 2023
Four Parties (Denmark, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) submitted previously granted adjustment applications in 2023. The review of all submitted previously granted adjustments is completed.

Adjustments 2022
The 2020 inventory (submitted in 2022) was the first inventory to which the new Emission Reduction Commitments (ERCs) as defined in Annex II of the amended Gothenburg apply. The Emission Reduction Commitments are relative to 2005 emission levels.
Four Parties (Denmark, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) submitted new adjustment applications in 2022. The review of all submitted adjustments is completed. The review of all submitted adjustments was perfomed during Arpil/June. Hungary did not report adjustements in 2021.
